MPCC Valentine campus to host drug class

The Mid-Plains Community College Valentine Campus will offer a free drug awareness class from 6-8 p.m. CT March 25. The class will be available both on-site and via Zoom. The instructor for the course, Valentine police officer Brandon Ormesher, is a certified drug recognition expert.

Child care needed

Finding child care is an issue that plagues working parents across the state of Nebraska. According to Voices for Children’s 2019 Kids Count report, 91% of Nebraska counties don’t have enough child care slots to meet the needs of area families.

Lions Club provides screenings to students

Thanks to community donations, the Lions Club was able to bring vision and hearing screenings to Mullen Public Schools through the State Lions Club Foundation’s Mobile Screening Unit (MSU). The screenings took place on Monday, Feb.
