Kenny and Sharilyn Bader went to Valentine Saturday. Sharilyn met her girlfriend Barb Hofelt from Millboro, South Dakota, and they enjoyed having lunch together at the Old Mill and catching up on the news. Ken and Bev Sestak of Bridgeport spent the weekend with her mother Alice Phipps.

Locals named to college honors lists

A total of 113 students qualified for the President’s List during the 2020 fall semester at Mid-Plains Community College. To make the list, each student had to complete 12 or more applicable credit hours in college-level courses and maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 3.9 or greater on a 4.

Commercial Club awards $5,000 to C&G Wild Game Processing

The Mullen Commercial Club is proud to have recently donated $5,000 in grant money to C&G Wild Game Processing, LLC. C&G Wild Game Processing is a new business to the Mullen community and is owned by Xavier and Connie Garza of Seneca.

We endured high wind last Wednesday night, Jan. 13 through the day Friday, Jan. 15. According to the National Weather Service out of North Platte, the strongest winds were generally Thursday afternoon. The strongest reported for the wind event was 75 mph at Crescent Lake Wednesday night.
