Hooker County Fair royalty history

by Gerri PetersonThe honor of the Hooker County Fair King and Queen has been a fair tradition since 1987. Prior to 1987, a Hooker County Fair Queen and Princess were named after a queen contest that took place with competitions such as speech, style show and sitting down to a fancy meal.

Over 60 participate in Water Carnival to kick off fair

by Gerri PetersonThe Water Carnival kicked off the Hooker County Fair at the Mullen Swimming Pool on Friday, July 25. Twenty-three kids participated in the baby pool events, with 40 kids participating in the big pool.

Mullen welcomes Maple Park Dental Associates

by Gerri Peterson After 11 years in Mullen, Sandhills Family Dental’s last day here was June 24. Maple Park Dental Associates has now taken over the Mullen dental office, with Dr. Adam Mackley coming up to Mullen from North Platte on Mondays and Tuesdays.
