Camper hookups now available at fairgrounds

by Gerri PetersonThanks to the Mullen Commercial Club spearheading the project, the Hooker County Fairgrounds now has six camper hookups.Located along the fence line on the east edge of the fairgrounds, the hookups will be useful for all kinds of events held at the fairgrounds.

Vacation Bible School is June 16-20

Mullen Methodist Church’s Vacation Bible School will be held June 16-20, 9 a.m. to noon each day. This year’s theme is “Everywhere Fun Fair where God’s World Comes Together.” The program and a potluck lunch will be held Sunday, June 22 at 11 a.m. All are welcome.

Summer Reading Program is June 12

The Summer Reading Program “Color Our World” will be held Thursday, June 12 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Hooker County Library for children entering kindergarten through 5th grade.Toby’s Silly Adventures will be held on Monday, June 16 at 3:30 p.m.

Backyard Farmer live in Valentine Tuesday

Lincoln – “Backyard Farmer” will travel to Nebraska’s scenic Sandhills to record an episode in Valentine on Tuesday, June 10.The public is invited to be part of this free event at the Frederick Peak Golf Club, 1000 Dowden St., with a question and answer session starting at 5:15 p.m.
