Forage Minute: Spring flash grazing

by Ben Beckman As pastures green up this spring, there may be an opportunity for producers to get some early forage and manage weeds, flash grazing. This can be particularly beneficial for early weeds like cheatgrass or downy brome.

A reminder about senior citizen meals at Red’s Cafe

The Mullen CARE Connect group would like to remind Mullen’s senior citizens that they may order the noon special at Red’s Cafe, Monday through Friday.There are some folks who have paid in advance (required) and haven’t used the service! All you need to do is call 308-546-2270 by 10:30 a.m.

Next opportunity to donate blood in Mullen is May 14

Donated blood is a lifesaving gift most healthy people can give. The community is encouraged to donate blood on Wednesday, May 14 from 12-6 p.m. at the Hooker County Community Center to help those who have been seriously injured and need blood products to help them recover.
