Mail truck no longer coming to Mullen twice a day

by Gerri Peterson The mail truck only comes to the Mullen Post Office once a day now, instead of twice. Mullen’s mail doesn’t go out until early the next morning, instead of leaving Mullen after 4:00 p.m. that day.

Public encouraged to take turkey survey

The public is invited to participate in the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s annual summer turkey brood survey July 1-Aug. 31.The survey provides useful estimates about annual production by wild turkey hens and how many poults, or young turkeys, survive the summer brood-rearing period.

Mullen nonprofit seeks donations to transport hay

Mullen - America’s Lifeline Emergency Response Team Foundation (ALERT), a national 501(c)(3) disaster response nonprofit based in Mullen, Nebraska, is seeking assistance in transporting thousands of donated out-ofstate hay bales designated for Nebraska producers impacted by wildfires.
