Forage Minute: Storing to reduce hay loss

by Ben Beckman With winter near, now is the time to set up hay yards for easy access if you haven’t already done so. While sorting by lots and quality is important, keep in mind how we store can also impact spoilage. Are you storing hay so losses are at a minimum?

NIRMA presents dividend checks at annual meeting

Lincoln - Hooker County has received a $859 dividend check through its participation in the Nebraska Intergovernmental Risk Management Association (NIRMA) pooling program.

Women in Agriculture photo exhibition in North Platte

North Platte - A photography exhibition celebrating 40 years of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Nebraska Women in Agriculture program will be on display through Nov. 20 in North Platte at the West Central Research, Extension and Education Center, 402 W. State Farm Road.

Hooker County’s General Election results

by Gerri PetersonHooker County had an 82.7% voter turn out for the General Election last Tuesday, Nov. 5. Statewide, Nebraska had the second-highest number of votes cast in Nebraska’s election history with preliminary turnout data showing 73.9% of registered Nebraska voters voted.

MPS kitchen gets needed upgrade
