County and village sales and use taxes on ballot

by Gerri Peterson During the General Election next week, Hooker County non-village residents will be voting on a county sales and use tax of 1% in Hooker County. This tax will only be paid by residents and businesses outside of the Village of Mullen limits.

The Mullen blood drive collected 38 units of blood, including 5 power reds last Wednesday, Oct. 23, which was 7 units over their goal. Milestone donors were Tammy Simonson - 7 gallons (pictured above) and Jim Hessin - 5 gallons. Dane Peterson - 2 gallons, was inadvertently missed last blood drive.

City girl turns ranch wife of 51+ years
