Judy Ridenour of Mullen, Nebraska, was named the 2024 NRD Director of the Year at the Nebraska Resources Districts’ annual conference in Kearney on Sept. 23.Ridenour has been a dedicated member of the Upper Loup NRD Board since 1990.

Hooker County receives $8,000 grant

Hooker County was recently awarded an $8,000 Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation Betterment Grant from the Bob and Susan Childers Fund.The Hooker County Sheriff’s Office purchased two Getac rugged laptops that will be used in Sheriff Todd Yost and Deputy Sheriff J.B.

Assembly of God’s Joy Club to resume

Joy Club will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 9.This kid’s activity is open to ages 5 years old through 6th grade and will take place on Wednesdays at Mullen Assembly of God (208 NW 1st St) after scho ol from 3:15-4:30 p.m. Activities include snacks, singing, Bible stories, games and crafts.
