John J. Carr passed away at his home in Mullen on Dec. 18, 2020. He was born on Aug. 17, 1943, to John S. and E. Thelma Carr (Dooley).
John graduated from Mullen High School in 1961. He spent his summers during school working in the hayfield.
He was in the United States Army for two years, stationed in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Fort Rucker, Alabama; and Fort Carson, Colorado. John was in active duty in Cu Chi, Vietnam. His rank was a SP5.
He worked for 40 years in road construction. He enjoyed arrowhead hunting and watching football and rodeo on TV.
John was preceded in death by his parents, sister Elaine Robinson, brothers Thomas Wilfered Carr and Steven Eddie Carr and brother-in-law Dick Cash.
He is survived his son Thomas (Rogina Ridenour) Carr, daughter Dawn (Jeffrey Boldt) Jessup, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, sisters Edith Cash and Etta (Bob) Waline and special lifetime friends Terry (Mendy) Isom, godson Tyler Isom, John Simonson and Butch (Jolene) LaBore.
Memorials are suggested to Dry Valley Cemetery.
Memorial services will be held on Feb. 6, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. MT at Dry Valley Cemetery north of Mullen. A 21 gun salute will follow services, with lunch then at Red’s Cafe in Mullen.
