Jacqueline Licking

Jacqueline “Jackie” Licking, age 87, passed away Feb. 6, 2021, at Pioneer Memorial Rest Home in Mullen, Nebraska, where she was a resident.

Jackie was born Dec. 8, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois, one of six children born to Roy and Evelyn (Gibner) Johnson. At age 17 Jackie and 3 of her girlfriends made their way out to the Sandhills of Nebraska. They would go to the dances, and that is where she met and married Paul Licking.

Jackie was married to Paul Licking on Feb. 21, 1952, at Broken Bow. The couple made their home just south of Seneca. To this union were born five children. Daughter Pauline “Punkin” Brown, sons Jimmy “Jim”, Thomas “Tom”, Jester “Jess”, and Phillip “Flip” Licking.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband Paul, brothers Allen and Kenneth Johnson, sister Helen Aggus, her parents, in-laws, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Jackie is survived by her brother Richard Johnson; sister Patricia Michuda; children Pauline (Royce) Brown, Jim Licking, Tom (Rose) Licking, Jess (Bobbie) Licking and Flip Licking; grandsons Brian and Kevin Hulquist, Richard, Timmy, and Roger Licking and Jeremy Licking; granddaughters Amy and Adrienne Licking, Kellie Murray and Kate Dailey; 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Feb. 15, 2021, at the Seneca Auditorium in Seneca, Nebraska, with Pastor Ben Eickhoff and Nat Warren officiating. Burial was in the Seneca Cemetery in Seneca.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association in memory of Jackie.
