Ella Mae McIntosh

Ella Mae (Scofield) McIntosh, age 87, of Broken Bow, Nebraska, passed away June 25, 2021, at Brookestone View in Broken Bow.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. Burial was at the Broken Bow Cemetery. The services were livestreamed at www.govierbrothers.com. Online words of remembrance and condolences can be left at www.govierbrothers.com

Ella Mae was born northeast of Burwell in Garfield County on Feb. 16, 1934, to Earl and Katie (Bartos) Scofield. She grew up on a farm helping with all the chores, milking cows and harvesting crops. Ella Mae attended grade school in Garfield County.

She was united in marriage to Ralph McIntosh on Aug. 10, 1952. To this union two children were born: son Lonnie and daughter Connie. Ralph and Ella Mae worked together on ranches. Ella Mae cooked for the hired men and haying crews.

Ella Mae and Ralph moved their family to Broken Bow in February of 1968. Ella worked at BD for 24.5 years before retiring.

She loved having family around and visiting with friends and neighbors. Ella Mae’s hobbies were collecting salt and pepper shakers, she was a huge fan of John Wayne, crocheting, cross stitching, camping and playing cards. Grandma Mac would always play Kings Corner with the grandkids.

Ella Mae is survived by her husband Ralph of almost 69 years, son Lonnie McIntosh (Nina) of Grand Island, daughter Connie (Bill) Lentz of Ainsworth, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three brothers Mervin (Glayda) Scofield of David City, Kenneth (Kim) Scofield of Oceanside, California, and Ronnie (Susan) Scofield of Verdigre, other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nephews and nieces, cousins and friends.

Ella Mae was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Katie Scofield, brothers Harold and Oren Scofield, sisters Catherine “Kate” Ritter and Vernie Clark.
