Dyle L. Buckbee, 89, of Lincoln, Nebraska, died peacefully Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, at Southlake Village in Lincoln surrounded by his family.
Celebration of Life services will be 1:00 p.m. CT Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the chapel of Southlake Village. Brenda Merry will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date at the Somerford Cemetery near Sargent, Nebraska.

Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City, Nebraska, is in charge of arrangements. Condolences for the Buckbee family can be left at higginsfuneralhomelc. com. Dyle Laverne Buckbee was born Oct. 21, 1935, at Comstock, Nebraska, to Ralph and Leota (Knapp) Buckbee. He grew up and attended school in Comstock.
He married Joyce Catlett on Aug. 20, 1956, at Sargent, Nebraska. Two children were born to this union, Craig and Carmen.
Dyle taught and coached early in life. He and Joyce lived in Rising City, Mullen, Sargent, Minatare, Grand Island and Lincoln. He and Joyce lived on a farm southwest of Sargent, at which time Dyle was a professional horse trainer. After retirement Dyle worked for the American Red Cross Bloodmobile. Dyle and Joyce have resided at the Southlake Village Rehabilitation and Care Center since 2020.
He loved horses and ranching. Dyle was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Dyle is survived by his wife, Joyce of Lincoln; son, Craig (Leah) Buckbee of Bennet, Neb.; daughter, Carmen (Scott) Erickson of North Platte, Neb.; grandsons, Tyler (Sarah) Buckbee of Eagle, Neb.; Justin (Brandi) Erickson of North Platte, Neb.; granddaughter, Mallory (Ryan) Dennhardt of Kearney, Neb.; numerous great-grandchildren, stepgrandchildren and step-greatgrandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
