Barbara J. Berg, 84, of Kearney passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Mt. Carmel Keens Memorial Home in Kearney. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Barbara was born June 23, 1939, in Kearney to Aubrey and Hattie (Smith) Botts.
She was raised in Kearney and received her education from Kearney High School, graduating with the class of 1957.
On Aug. 31, 1959, Barbara was united in marriage to Eldon Berg in Kearney. To this union two daughters were blessed. The couple made their home in Kearney, where together they owned and operated Eldon’s Transmission Service for many years.
Barbara enjoyed attending the Petersen Senior Activity Center where she played cards and dominos. She also had a passion for bowling and was inducted into the Kearney USBC Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 2009. Barbara was also a longtime member of the Red Hat Society.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Connie (Bob) Broweleit of Seneca and Joanne Berg of Kearney; granddaughter Aubrey Callahan of Kearney; sister Beryl Rogers of Omaha; sister-in-law Della Botts of Azle, Texas; brother-in-law Everett Berg of Keosauqua, Iowa; as well as many extended family members.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband Eldon Berg; grandson Aaron Broweleit; and her brothers Vance and Boyd Botts.
