Hastings resident Fedora I.
Groenewold, 101, passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings.
Requiem Eucharist was Saturday, Nov. 4 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Pro-Cathedral Church in Hastings with The Very Reverend Katie Hargis officiating. Burial was at St.
Mark’s Episcopal Pro-Cathedral Columbarium in Hastings.
Memorials may be given to the Masonic Children’s Home in Fremont, Nebraska.

Fedora was born Feb. 8, 1922, in Drakesville, Iowa, to Guy and Ethel (Pierrad) Humphrey. She graduated in 1938 from Mullen High School in Mullen, Nebraska.
Fedora taught at a small school for a few years and then owned and operated Chez’ Coulee beauty salon.
She was a member of St.
Mark’s Episcopal Pro-Cathedral Church, worthy matron Eastern Star, and was past President of the Nebraska Hairdressers Association.
Fedora enjoyed gardening, cooking, and hosting dinner parties.
Fedora was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; brother, Emery Humphrey; and sister, Grace Wiese.
Survivors include her son Carl (Sharon) Groenewold of Ayr, Nebraska; step-grandchildren Randy and Kathy Uhrmacher, Cindy Gangwish and Kevin and Carrisa Uhrmacher all of Hastings; 10 step-greatgrandchildren; 7 step-greatgreat- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
