Stuart Jacob Koch, 85, of North Platte, passed away May 23, 2023, at home. He was born on March 9, 1938, to Frank and Emma “Hazel” (Barnett) Koch in Sutherland.
Stuart grew up in Hershey and graduated from Hershey High School with the class of 1955. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad, Gentleman Power Plant and as a selfemployed carpenter for many years.
Stuart was a very giving person. He loved horses and horse training, playing chess, and showing dogs, cattle, and horses in 4-H.
Survivors include children, Angela (Mitch) Musselman of North Platte, Sarah (Shaun) Crawford of Hershey, Susan (Steve) Conrad of North Platte, Norman Koch of North Platte; grandchildren, James Musselman, Shane Musselman, Samuel Musselman, Matthew Musselman, Jacob Koch, Eric Halsted all of North Platte; sisters, Shirley Brownfield of Hershey, Ruth Brown of North Platte; several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Emma “Hazel”; siblings, Margaret Parker, Francis Jorgenson, Frank “Wayne” Koch, Merlon “Skip” Koch.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. CT, Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Lamont Cemetery near Hershey with Reverend Mike Wing officiating. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. CT, Monday, June 5, 2023, at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
