Lee Isom

Lee Isom, age 92, of Mullen, Nebraska, quietly passed away in the early hours of Nov. 17, 2021, at his home of 47 years just north of town. Lee Alton Isom was born on Aug. 29, 1929, to Charles and Nellie (Boyer) Isom at their home north of Mullen.

William Burt

William “Bill” Richard Burt, age 83, of the Oshkosh area passed away Nov. 14, 2021, at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell, Nebraska. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, at the United Methodist Church in Mullen, Nebraska, with Pastor John Parsons officiating.

James Sexson

James Ryan Sexson was born Feb. 16, 2009. He surprised us all with his arrival, bursting his way into this world after a long day of hauling cattle home from stalks. I drove all day on icy roads as a part of the hauling crew.

William Hicks

William Arthur Hicks, age 71, of Mullen died Nov. 9, 2021, at Great Plains Health in North Platte. William was born on Feb. 21, 1950, in Alliance, Nebraska, to William “Bill” C and Viola (Gorsuch) Hicks. He was the oldest of the three kids. Bill was an avid team roper.

Cecil Guthrie

A Celebration of Life Service for Cecil E. Guthrie was held Nov. 2 at the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege, Nebraska, with Pastors Scott Guthrie and Rick Thomasen officiating.

Bernie Spencer

Bernie Spencer, age 96, of Hyannis, Nebraska, passed away Oct. 17, 2021, at the Morrill County Community Hospital in Bridgeport, Nebraska. Bernard Richard Spencer was born Sept. 24, 1925, north of Hyannis to Albertus “Bert” and Mary (McKinney) Spencer. He attended school in Alliance and Broadwater.

Patricia Finney

Patricia (Pat) Ann Finney was born Sept. 1, 1952, to Elmer (Bud) and Margaret (Becker) Kramer at St. Mary’s Hospital, in North Platte, Nebraska. She departed this life on Oct. 15, 2021, at the age of 69, after a brief illness.

Erwin “Jimmy” Warden

Erwin (Jimmy) L. Warden, 80, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, died Oct. 17, 2021. He was born on Oct. 17, 1941. He was a member of the military armed forces and retired in 1996. Burial will be at the Cheyenne National Cemetery. He grew up in the Sandhills of Nebraska.

Gary Smith

Gary Lee Smith, 82, passed away on Oct. 4, 2021. Gary was born March 18, 1939, in Maxwell, Nebraska. Gary’s claim of, “Now I’ve done it all” has been fulfilled after a lifetime of abundant experiences. Immediately after graduating high school, he enlisted in the Marines where he operated tanks.

Ronald Janicke

Ronald Frederick William Janicke, known as Buddy to longtime friends, was born Aug. 13, 1937, in Lawrence, Kansas, to Milton William and Fayetta Ville (Windhorst) Janicke. He was the second of three children, and their only son.
