Haesler places 2nd at Inter-High Day

North Platte Community College’s 55th annual Inter-High Day lured in 470 students from 21 area high schools on Thursday, Feb. 22. Among those students was 23 Mullen High School students.

MHS blood drive is Wednesday, March 13

Mullen - The community is invited to roll up a sleeve and answer the call for patients in need by donating blood on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hilltop Gym. Blood donors are lifesaving heroes.

Thank you bus drivers!

Feb. 22 is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day and Mullen Public Schools rely on eight rural bus routes to get country kids to school and back every day. The routes range from 30 minutes round trip to 3 hours.

The 4th-6th grade STEM Club students studied mass and inertia last Tuesday, Feb. 13 while competing with their origami jumping frogs. A few of the MHS sophomores also helped with the project.

Speech season is in full swing!

The Mullen Speech team has been continuing to build their medal collection! On Saturday, Feb. 3 they competed in Gothenburg, a meet with over 450 entries and 29 schools. Senior Ashlyn Simonson placed 4th in persuasive and freshman Hope Miller placed 5th in novice serious. On Wednesday, Feb.

Brandon Hardin is Student of the Month

Brandon Hardin, a 9th grade student at MPS and son of Shelby and Sarah Hardin, was nominated to be January’s Student of the Month during the monthly staff meeting. Brandon was considered for the Student of the Month award because he never fails to impress his teachers.
On Sunday, Feb. 4 a group of Mullen’s TeamMates mentees and their mentors traveled to Kearney for a Tri-City Storm hockey game. Over 800 TeamMates Mentoring Program members from 29 chapters were in the crowd. It was an exciting game to watch, with Tri-City defeating the Omaha Lancers 12-2, setting a new Storm record for most goals scored in a single game. courtesy photos
