Walker on Boys’ Golf Super-State Team

MHS senior Brendon Walker was named to the 2021 Nebraska Coaches Association Boys’ Golf Super-State Team. Classification comparisons are based solely on the athletes’ performance at the NSAA State Championships.

DeNaeyer, McCully and Jennings siblings qualify for State

Four Mullen High School cowboys and cowgirls have qualified to compete at the Nebraska High School Rodeo Association State Finals in Hastings June 16-19, with all four of them also having a chance to qualify for National Finals, which will be held in Lincoln this year, July 18-24!

Junior High Rodeo ends

Mullen 8th grader Peyton Paxton wrapped up her Junior High Rodeo run at the State Finals rodeo in Broken Bow two weeks ago. She and her ribbon roping partner, Jackson Wykert, placed 2nd in the first round with a 19.66. They ended up 8th in the average with a 119.

Run/walk MHS cross country fundraiser

The Mullen High School Cross Country team will be hosting a run/walk fundraiser on Saturday, June 12, open to everyone. Starting at 8 a.m. at the Mullen High School, a Tot Trot (toddlers up to age 4) will be held, followed by a Kids 1 Mile Fun Run and then a 5K (walkers, runners, bikes welcome).

Nebraska High School Rodeo season drawing to an end

The Nebraska High School Rodeo competitors will wrap up their spring season this Friday through Sunday, June 4-6, with two days in Harrison and then Sunday in Crawford, gunning for points to qualify for State Finals in Hastings June 16-19.

Jessica Stieb, a sophomore at Arcadia/Loup City, won the Class C Shot Put at State Track with a throw of 44’ 7.5”, giving her the All Class Gold Medal. Jessica also placed 4th in the discus with 125”, putting her 12th in All Class.

Callie Coble is 3200 State Champ, boys team is Class D Runners-up

The Mullen Broncos brought hardware and new school records back home with them from the NSAA Class D Track & Field Championships in Omaha last Wednesday and Thursday, May 19-20. On Wednesday, junior Callie Coble was the girls 3200 meter run State Champion, crossing the finish line in 12:13.

T-ball and baseball has begun

The Mullen youth t-ball and baseball practices began this week and will continue every Tuesday and Thursday until the first game. T-ball is for 4-8 year olds and baseball is for 8-12 year olds. T-ball practice is from 4:00-5:00 p.m. and baseball practice is from 5:00-6:15 p.m. Dues are $10.
