Jessica Stieb, a sophomore at Arcadia/Loup City, won the Class C Shot Put at State Track with a throw of 44’ 7.5”, giving her the All Class Gold Medal. Jessica also placed 4th in the discus with 125”, putting her 12th in All Class.

The Mullen Broncos brought hardware and new school records back home with them from the NSAA Class D Track & Field Championships in Omaha last Wednesday and Thursday, May 19-20. On Wednesday, junior Callie Coble was the girls 3200 meter run State Champion, crossing the finish line in 12:13.

T-ball and baseball has begun

The Mullen youth t-ball and baseball practices began this week and will continue every Tuesday and Thursday until the first game. T-ball is for 4-8 year olds and baseball is for 8-12 year olds. T-ball practice is from 4:00-5:00 p.m. and baseball practice is from 5:00-6:15 p.m. Dues are $10.

The Mullen Bronco boys golf team hosted their own invite on Wednesday, May 12. Brendon Walker placed second to Colbi Smith of South Loup by two strokes, with a score of 74. Ethan Hardin shot a 100 and Kyle Finney shot a 120.

Two Mullen Junior High Lady Broncos competed at the Nebraska Junior High Championship Meet in Gothenburg on Saturday, May 15. Seventh grader Tierston Moore won the 200 meter hurdles with a time of 30.67. She also placed second in the 100 meter hurdles in an exciting race with a time of 16.

The Mullen Broncos competed in the Class D-8 District Track Meet last Wednesday, May 12 in Broken Bow. With their full team of just seven athletes, the Lady Broncos were District Runners-up with 79 points behind North Platte St. Pat’s 116 points.

Several Mullen Broncos brought home Best in the Midwest Track & Field Invitational hardware last Tuesday, May 4 from Sutherland. The top eight athletes in each event competed, with Jaden Emerson bringing home the only gold medal for the Broncos by winning the boys’ 200 with a time of 23.06.

The Mullen Bronco boys golf team competed in Chappell on Tuesday, May 4. Brendon Walker combined nine hole scores of 42 and 38 to place second with an 80, behind Jesse Heide of Kimball with a 77. Ethan Hardin shot a 51 and a 45 for a 96 and Kyle Finney shot a 58 and a 61 for a 119.
