Lady Broncos place 2nd, boys 3rd at MNAC Track

The Mullen Broncos had a hot day to compete at the MNAC track meet last Saturday, May 1 in Arnold, with the temperature reaching over 90ºF. With just six girls competing, the Lady Broncos placed 2nd with 90 points, behind South Loup’s 125.5 points.

The Mullen Bronco boys golf team competed in the MNAC tournament on Thursday, April 29 at Thedford. After 18 holes, there was a first place tie between Mullen’s Brendon Walker and Colbi Smith of South Loup, both with scores of 77.

Mullen’s Nebraska High School Rodeo competitors saw more success this past weekend in Hyannis and Arthur. On Saturday, May 1 in Hyannis, Spencer DeNaeyer placed 2nd in the bareback with a score of 60. Whitney Jennings placed 5th in breakaway with a 3.

NPCC volleyball announces dates for summer camps

Area youth will have the opportunity to hone their volleyball skills this summer through three camps offered by the North Platte Community College Knights Volleyball Team. Team Camps The Knights will host high school team camps June 28-29 and July 12-13.

It’s high school rodeo time again!

The Nebraska High School Rodeo season is underway again, with a two-day rodeo at McCook kicking off the spring season April 24-25. Five Mullen High School students are competing - seniors Brooke McCully and Hayden Jennings, juniors Faith Miller and Spencer DeNaeyer and sophomore Whitney Jennings.

Walker wins Garden County Golf Meet

The MHS boys golf team competed at Bridgeport last Friday, April 23. Brendon Walker’s 84 placed him 4th. He shot a 38 on the front 9 and a 46 on the back 9. Ethan Hardin shot a 64 and a 61 for a 125 and Kyle Finney shot a 69 and a 62 for a 136.

Some of the Mullen Bronco track athletes were out of school more than they were in school, competing at three different meets last week. On Tuesday, April 20 the Nebraska Track & Field Festival was held in Papillion. This is Nebraska’s only statewide all-class meet.
