Youth wrestlers compete in Broken Bow, Valentine

Mullen’s youth wrestlers attended Broken Bow and Valentine’s wrestling meets this past weekend. This will conclude the season for much of our team. The character of our youth in this community should leave us all optimistic for the future.

Broncos win last regular season game

In their last regular season game, the Mullen Broncos defeated Wauneta-Palisade 65-26 last Friday, Feb. 19. Clayton Moore led the Broncos with 14 points, 6 steals, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Brendon Walker had 13 points and 9 steals. Trevor Kuncl had 11 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.

Lady Broncos cruise through subdistricts

The Lady Broncos cruised through their subdistrict games last week, defeating Paxton on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 62-21, and then Arthur on Thursday, Feb. 18, 62-30. As the #1 seed, the Broncos hosted the subdistrict games.

Over 230 entries at Mullen Youth Wrestling Meet

We had our home tournament on Sunday, Feb. 21 at the Lariat. It was a very tough meet with over 230 entries. We had 29 kids wrestle. Our kids are battling and improving every day. Thank you to everyone who helped out. It was a great day for Mullen Bronco wrestling!

Daniels plays key role for Knights

The North Platte Community College Knights volleyball team swept Southeast Community College in three sets Wednesday night, Feb. 17 in one of a handful of home games the Knights will have this season. The scores were 25-14, 25-15 and 25-15. Alysen Daniels of Mullen had three kills in the game.

Girls and Boys State Basketball Championships on NET

Lincoln – On two Saturdays in March, high school basketball teams from all across Nebraska will converge on Lincoln to play for state titles. NET, Nebraska’s PBS & NPR Stations, will provide live coverage of championship games played at the Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Paxton, DeNaeyer medal at State Wrestling

Six Mullen Bronco wrestlers ended their season at the Class D NSAA State Championships in Omaha last week, with two of them bringing home medals. As a team, the Broncos placed 14th out of 66 teams. Sophomore Eli Paxton placed fifth at 113.
