Mullen sixth grader Ella Rice continues to compete in gymnastics through Legacy Dance and Gymnastics in North Platte. They had seven meets this season, beginning in December and ending with the state meet last weekend.

NPCC Knights earn Region IX volleyball title

The North Platte Community College Knights volleyball team dropped a nail-biter to McCook Community College in five sets Tuesday night, March 16. The final scores were: 15- 25, 26-24, 26-24, 18-25 and 13-15. Alysen Daniels, of Mullen, led with 13 kills.

Broncos lose State Basketball heartbreaker, 47-49

The #2 Mullen Bronco boys basketball team had a heartbreaking loss, 47-49, to #7 Falls City Sacred Heart last Wednesday, March 10, at the NSAA Boys Basketball State Championship. The Broncos had a 28-17 halftime lead that FCSH chipped away in the second half.

The North Platte Community College Knights volleyball team stomped the McCook Community College Indians in four sets Tuesday night, Feb. 23: 25-16, 22-25, 25-17 and 25-18. That puts the Knights at 8-9 on the season. Taylor Hansen, of Yuma, Colo., led the game with 18 kills.

The #4 Lady Broncos sealed their ticket to the NSAA Girls Basketball Championships last Friday night in Brady as they defeated #13 Loomis 63-53. The Broncos had a 41-23 halftime lead, but the Wolves outscored them 8-16 in the third quarter to make the game an exciting one in the second half!

For the second year in a row - and ever - both the girls and boys basketball teams from Mullen are headed to the state tournament! Last Tuesday, Feb. 23, the boys defeated Arthur County 71-23 in the first round of subdistricts in Mullen.
