NSAA Wrestling Championships on NET

Lincoln - Watch the “NSAA Wrestling Championships” safely from home on NET, Nebraska’s PBS & NPR Stations. At 7 p.m. CT, Thursday, Feb. 18, watch Classes A and D. At 7 p.m. CT, Saturday, Feb. 20, watch Classes B and C. Both will be broadcast live from the CHI Health Center in Omaha.

MNAC sweep continues with wrestlers

The Mullen Broncos continued their 2020-21 sweep of MNAC competitions last Tuesday in Mullen when they hosted MNAC Wrestling. The Broncos placed first out of eight teams with 123 points. Twin Loup was 2nd with 103.5 points and South Loup was 3rd with 79.

The North Platte Community College Knights Volleyball Team won one and lost one during the first two games of the season Friday, Jan. 29 at the Laramie County Community College Tournament in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

MNAC Basketball Champions

The Lady Broncos had some of their highest scoring games all season as they cruised to become the MNAC Basketball Tournament Champions last week. They hosted D1 Sandhills Valley on Wednesday, Jan. 27 for their first game, defeating them 60-23. They scored 27 points in the first quarter alone.

Wrestlers place 2nd at Central Valley Invitational

The Mullen Bronco wrestling team placed 2nd out of 20 teams last Friday, Jan. 29 at the Central Valley Invitational with 143 points, behind Neligh/Oakdale’s 187 and ahead of Palmer’s 107. Three Broncos won their weight classes. Isaac Welch won 285, pinning all of his opponents.

Lady Broncos continue adding wins

The Lady Broncos cruised to two more victories last week, defeating Twin Loup on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 55-25, and then Gordon-Rushville on Friday, Jan. 22, 41-25. At Twin Loup, Samantha Moore led the Broncos with 13 points, 7 assists, 6 steals and 3 rebounds.

Broncos defeat C1 Gordon-Rushville 43-33

The Broncos had just one game last week, traveling to C1 Gordon-Rushville on Friday, Jan. 22. An 18-3 first quarter helped propel the Broncos to a 43-33 victory. Trevor Kuncl led the Broncos with 14 points and 5 steals. Clayton Moore had 11 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.

Broncos place 2nd at South Loup Invite, host Mullen Duals

The Bronco wrestling team competed at the South Loup Invite on Friday, Jan. 23, where they placed second out of 19 teams with 111 points, behind Plainview’s 183.5 and ahead of Ansley-Litchfield’s 105. Spencer DeNaeyer won the lone individual gold medal for the Broncos at 152.
