Lady Broncos place 3rd in tournament

by Gerri Peterson Last week the Lady Broncos traveled to Paxton for a two-day Holiday Tournament.
On Tuesday, Dec. 19 they played Paxton. They led 7-6 at the end of the first quarter, but then only scored 1 point in the second quarter, allowing the Tigers to pull ahead with the halftime score 8-16.

by Kyle Finney, MHS senior The boy’s basketball team traveled to Paxton for the Holiday Tournament on Tuesday, Dec. 19.
The Broncos got out to a slow start against Paxton, with the score 11-3 at the end of the first quarter.

Lady Broncos lose to Anselmo-Merna, win at Cody-Kilgore

The Lady Broncos hosted the Anselmo-Merna Coyotes on Thursday, Dec. 14.
The Broncos trailed 22-13 at halftime. The scoring was closer in the second half, 13-14, but the Broncos were unable to hit enough baskets to earn the win, losing 26-36.

The Broncos got out to a hot start, ending the first quarter up 9-0. After a second quarter filled with fouls, the Coyotes crawled back into the game. The score at half was 14-14.

sophomore The Bronco wrestling team participated in two invites this week. On Friday, Dec. 15 they traveled to Sutherland and placed 8th out of 21 teams. On Saturday, Dec. 16 they traveled to Bridgeport and placed 8th out of 15 teams.

The Omaha World-Herald Nebraska All-Class 2023 football teams have been announced. Being named to the Honorable Mention in Class D2 was Chase Gracey, Justin French, Tate Kvanvig and Alex Werner.
Gracey was also named to the Huskerland Prep’s All State 2nd Team on defense.

The Bronco basketball team played Valentine on Tuesday, Dec. 5.
Valentine took a commanding lead with some tough defense, 8-21 at half.
It was the same for the second half, with Valentine winning 30-53.

Broncos lose to C2 Valentine, comeback win at Hyannis

The Lady Bronco basketball team hosted the C2 Valentine Badgers on Tuesday, Dec. 5.
The Badgers pulled out to a 19-5 lead in the first quarter, which the Broncos then struggled to dig out of the rest of the game.

Wrestling team places 8th in Gordon

sophomore Last Saturday, Dec. 9 the Mullen wrestling boys traveled to Gordon, where they placed 8th among 21 teams, scoring 89.5 points, at the Gordon-Rushville Invite.
