Wrestling team competes at Clarkson

by Toni Massey, MHS freshman On Friday, Feb. 3rd, the Mullen wrestling team traveled to Clarkson for a wrestling tournament where they wrestled a total of 13 different teams while having some wrestlers out due to sickness. Out of those 13 teams, Mullen came in 7th with 80 team points.

Lady Broncos fight hard against Hershey, South Loup

by Jadyn Andersen, MHS junior The Lady Broncos fought hard in last week’s games against Hershey (15-6) and South Loup (12-6). The girls worked hard Tuesday night, Jan. 31 against D1 Hershey. The final score of the matchup was 28-68.

Broncos go 2-0

by Alex Moore, MHS senior After getting runner-up in the MNAC tournament, the Broncos had their final two home games to play this season. On Tuesday, Jan. 31st the Broncos continued their season against Hershey Public Schools.

Lady Broncos lose 2 close MNAC games

by Jadyn Andersen, MHS junior Last week, the Mullen Lady Broncos received two tough losses in the MNAC tournament. They played Twin Loup for the second time on Monday, Jan. 23 in Dunning, with a final score of 35-41. Head Coach Kay Dent said, “The girls came in focused and ready to play.

Broncos are MNAC runners-up to South Loup

by Alex Moore, MHS senior To start the MNAC tournament, the Mullen Broncos played the Brady Eagles at home in the first round on Tuesday, Jan. 24th. Brady was able to take the lead in the first half 20-15.

Broncos place 3rd at Central Valley

by Toni Massey, MHS freshman The Mullen wrestling team traveled to Central Valley on Friday, Jan. 27 to participate in a tournament. Out of 23 teams, Mullen came home 3rd with a score of 111. Coming behind Neligh-Oakdale with a score of 160 and Anselmo-Merna with a score of 142.5.
The Mullen youth wrestling team hosted a triangular on Sunday, Jan. 22 with Hershey and Valentine. Hershey first defeated Valentine 20-11. Mullen won 27-17 over Hershey and then 31-10 over Valentine.
