Golf team competes in first two meets

The Mullen Bronco boys golf team began their season on a blustery day Monday, April 4 in Stapleton. With only three golfers this year, senior Brady Oltmer and sophomores Ethan Hardin and Kyle Finney, the Broncos are only competing individually as they don’t have enough members for a team score.

Bowling league ends season with fun night

Hondo Lanes’ Thursday night mixed league ended their 2022 season with a Fun Night at the bowling alley March 17th. A delicious potluck buffet supper was enjoyed by all as secretary Jill Buchfinck and president Peggy Marsh handed out the award certificates.

NPCC men’s basketball to host fundamental skills camp

The North Platte Community College Knights men’s basketball team will offer area youth the opportunity to learn basic basketball skills this spring. Kevin O’Connor’s 2022 Knights Basketball Camp is scheduled for May 23-25. It will be open to boys and girls in grades 2-5 from 9-11:30 a.m.

Track season begins for Mullen Broncos in Hershey

The Mullen High School track teams began their season last Saturday, March 26 in Hershey at the Hershey/St. Patrick’s Meet. Out of 13 teams, the Mullen girls placed 5th and the boys placed 10th. Three middle and long distance runners earned individual gold medals.

Grady Phipps is Nebraska State Wrestling Champion

Mullen had 11 wrestlers compete at the NEUSA State 2022 meet this past weekend, March 19-20. Grady Phipps was the Pre-K-K 47-48 State Champion. Two other Broncos brought home medals - Caleb Deibler at 1st-2nd grades 85 in 8th place and Justin Kraus at 3rd-4th grades 100 also in 8th place.
