Lady Broncos go 0-2 last week

by Jordyn McDowell, MHS senior The Mullen Lady Broncos took a tough loss against the Hershey Panthers who they played in Mullen on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022. It should be noted that the Lady Broncos were battling a great deal of illness, causing a real lack in players present for the game.

Wrestlers are MNAC and State Dual Runners-up

by Sean Simonson, MHS senior On Tuesday, Feb. 1, Mullen traveled to Anselmo-Merna with only 10 of their wrestlers to compete in MNAC. The Mullen wrestlers took 2nd place as a team.

Kuncl to run at Concordia University

MHS senior Trevor Kuncl signed his letter of intent on Friday, Jan. 28 to compete in cross country and track at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, this fall. Trevor plans to pursue a double major in business administration and sports management.

MNAC Champs, 3 years in a row

On Monday, Jan. 24, the Mullen boys basketball team began its conference play by having a repeat match against Arthur, which is what happened for every match of the MNAC Tournament.

Lady Broncos finish 4th in MNAC Basketball Tournament

by Jordyn McDowell, MHS senior The Mullen Lady Broncos played the Twin Loup Wolves for an exciting late-game win in MNAC action at Arnold on Tuesday, Jan. 25. The Broncos were down 22 points at one point during the game, but pulled together for a great team win.

Matmen cruising to State Duals

by Gerri Peterson The Mullen Bronco wrestling team began their week last week with a Tuesday, Jan. 25 triangular at Maxwell. They defeated Brady 42-30 and Maxwell 54-24. Against Brady, Jeffery Forsen (106), Kyle Durfee (132) and Andrew Harvey (160) each pinned their opponents.

Youth wrestling tournament is Sunday

Mullen had youth wrestlers at three different tournaments over the weekend, January 29 and 30. We will be hosting our home youth tournament this Sunday, Feb. 6 at the Lariat, with matches beginning at 10 a.m. Broken Bow Wrestling Club Tournament PK-K 47-48: Grady Phipps - 3rd, 7 team points.

Youth basketball season wraps up

The Mullen youth basketball season has come to a close. Girls in grades 1-6 and boys in grades 2-6 spent Saturday mornings practicing some in December and through January.
