by Jordyn McDowell, MHS senior The Mullen Broncos faced the Anselmo-Merna Coyotes on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021. The girls lost and the boys pulled out a thrilling win in an overtime matchup. For the girls, the final score was 35-74. Taylor Svoboda led the team in shooting with 14 of Mullen’s points.

by Sean Simonson, MHS senior On Saturday, Dec. 18th, Mullen traveled to Sutherland to wrestle their third meet of the season. The Mullen wrestlers took second place with 122 points as a team, while competing without many of the varsity wrestlers. Individually the remaining wrestlers did terrific.

Lady Broncos go 2-0 in week two

On Tuesday, Dec. 7 the D2 Lady Broncos took on the C1 Lady Badgers of Valentine. The Lady Broncos got their first win of the season, 43-40. Senior Taylor Svoboda led the team with 18 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

On Tuesday Dec. 7, the D2 Mullen Broncos took on the C1 Valentine Badgers. The Broncos won their first home game of the season outscoring the Badgers 54 to 48. Senior Trevor Kuncl led the Broncos with 19 points, 5 steals and 1 assist.

On Saturday, Dec. 4th, Mullen hosted their first wrestling tournament of the season at The Hilltop Gym. The Mullen wrestlers took second place with 123 points as a team, getting beaten only by Hitchcock County with 131 points and staying out of reach of any other teams.
