The Mullen Elementary Field Day was held last Tuesday, May 7. Pictured above in their team colors (which online subscribers can see) are students in grades K-6 who took part in the day.

sophomore Alex Werner, a sophomore at Mullen Public Schools, is the son of Cameron and Dominique Werner. Alex was selected to be this month’s Student of the Month during the monthly staff meeting based on his hard work and dedication as well as his ability to help whenever needed.

Pizza with the Principal is a reward for six Mullen Elementary School students, featuring one student from each grade level. This is the elementary school’s version of Student of the Month.

The 2nd grade students wrote and illustrated a book called 'Invading Donuts'. They brainstormed ideas, planned, drafted, edited, edited again, published and drew pictures.

Congratulations to Phil Hoyt for being recognized as the Staff Member of the Quarter! Mr. Phil truly embodies dedication, positivity and a passion for helping students learn and grow.

The Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) is pleased to announce the student recipients of the Spring 2024 Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association (NCPA) Academic All-State Awards. Since 2006 this NSAA Awards Program has recognized students who meet the criteria for nomination by their school in the season of their activity.

The Mullen Elementary students had the opportunity to learn outside the classroom in the last couple weeks of school with all kinds of field trips. Pictured clockwise from the right: kindergarten and 1st graders went to the Golden Spike Tower and Cody Park in North Platte; the 5th graders went on an overnight trip to Lincoln where they toured the State Capitol and visited the Nebraska History Museum; the 2nd graders toured the North Platte Community Playhouse and the Garden Glove Greenhouse; the 3rd and 4th graders visited the Nebraska National Forest at Halsey.

Chadron - Cecilia Coons of Mullen and Darci Samuelson, a Holdrege native, but currently living in Mullen, both graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree during Chadron State Colleges' Spring Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 4.
