A celebration of life for Terry Glaze, who passed away on June 5, 2026, will be held Saturday, Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. CT at the First Presbyterian Church in Broken Bow.

Vernon Shears, age 91, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away on Aug. 29, 2026.Vernon Verl Shears was born on May 10, 1935, in Mullen, Nebraska, to Verlon Thomas and Elda Laura (Morrison) Shears.He grew up south of Whitman, northeast of Mullen, and south of Mullen.

Winifred Cooley

Winifred “Winnie” Ann Cooley, age 89, of Mullen passed away on Aug. 17, 2026, at the Great Plains Health in North Platte.Winifred Ann Cooley was born on Feb. 25, 1937, at Gibbon, Nebraska, to Fred and Rose (Jelinek) Micheel.Winnie grew up at Thedford and graduated from Thedford High School.

Thomas Emerson, age 86, of Whitman passed away on July 29, 2026, at his home.Thomas Richard Emerson was born to Dean and Ruth Emerson on June 4, 1940, at Mrs. Campbell’s home in Oshkosh. Thomas “Tom” joined a big brother Floyd Joseph (Joe) and a big sister Delores LaDean (Peggy).

Terry Glaze

Terry Glaze was born July 27, 1947, in Broken Bow, Nebraska, to Maxine and Keith Glaze. He died in Lincoln on June 5, 2026.Terry graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1965 and especially enjoyed Latin and Spanish classes with Mrs. Schwengle and working on the school newspaper.

Marvin Gorsuch

Marvin D. Gorsuch, 69, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 3, 2026.He was born on June 22, 1957, in Alliance, Nebraska, to Wayne W. and Janet R. (McIntosh) Gorsuch. On March 1, 2001, he married JoAnn in Alliance, beginning a marriage filled with love, laughter and family.

Kathleen Hood

Kathleen Jo (Caha) Hood, age 80, of Thedford, Nebraska, passed away on July 1, 2026.Kathy was born in Alliance, Nebraska, on May 11, 1946, to Bernard and Hazel Caha. Kathy was the youngest of two children.

Dewey Laverne Wiens

Dewey Laverne Wiens, age 87, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on June 15, 1939, on the family farm outside of Madrid, Nebraska, to Bernard Wiens and Esther Buller Wiens. He weighed a whopping 12 pounds!

A memorial service for Joe Finney will be held Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. CT at the Thomas County Fairgrounds in Thedford.
