I’ve recently started slipping into our 11-year-old’s shoes or sandals by the door when I’m stepping outside for something quick.“Remember when he fit curled up in a ball laying on my chest!?” I asked my husband Dane the other day. “Now I can wear his shoes!!”I’ll admit to getting a little teary.

I am writing this article on the afternoon of Sunday, Aug. 11. The legislature adjourned on Thursday and is scheduled to reconvene at 1:00 on Monday, Aug. 12. It’s expected that the Revenue Committee will be ready to formally introduce a committee amendment during the Monday session, likely to LB9.

Julie and I were really glad to be back in the District this past weekend, which gave us the opportunity to attend the parades at Brady Days and the Logan County Fair in Stapleton. We then made the trip up to Mullen to attend the annual Hooker County Fair beef barbeque.
