Update from Senator Jacobson

I am writing this article on the afternoon of Sunday, Aug. 11. The legislature adjourned on Thursday and is scheduled to reconvene at 1:00 on Monday, Aug. 12. It’s expected that the Revenue Committee will be ready to formally introduce a committee amendment during the Monday session, likely to LB9.

Julie and I were really glad to be back in the District this past weekend, which gave us the opportunity to attend the parades at Brady Days and the Logan County Fair in Stapleton. We then made the trip up to Mullen to attend the annual Hooker County Fair beef barbeque.

Dear Dave, I’ve made a lot of stupid money mistakes in the past. Even though I finally paid off six figures in debt a few years ago and am in control of my finances for the first time in my life, I’m having a hard time forgiving myself for all the dumb things I did.

The calls are becoming more frequent.“I didn’t get my paper.” “My papers keep being a week late.”“Did you not send out a paper?”Two weeks into yet another postage increase, which raised my weekly payment to mail the Tribune about $30, and the postal service keeps diminishing.

Within about a week, I’ll have purchased tickets for two different concerts in the next 11 months. I love having something to look forward to on the calendar and concerts are a great example of that.
