We squeezed in one last summer trip this past weekend before fair and then school, visiting my husband Dane’s sister and her husband just outside of Cheyenne. After taking in the Cheyenne Frontier Days’ parade Saturday morning, we heade to Cheyenne’s trampoline park - a first for all of us.

As we approach fall, I am focused on ideas for new legislation for the 108th Legislative Session. One issue I want to tackle is improvements to the Micro-TIF program so municipalities and counties in District 42 have the best tools they need to grow.

Dear Dave, I finished college a couple of years ago, and I have a good job making $65,000 a year. The only debt I have is about $5,000 remaining on a car loan, and I am paying that off as quickly as possible.

As a sophomore at Mullen High School, I was selected to attend Sandhills Leadership - a program through area schools and the UNL Extension that I believe continued through 2019. One of the activities that we did was take the True Colors personality test, which I still remember 21 years later.

Although the 107 th Legislature has adjourned, our work continues in the interim. In addition to working on new legislation for next year, I am also participating in committee activities. I currently serve in three committees: General Affairs, Agriculture, and Natural Resources.

It’s time for my annual “participate in the fair” column - and I see that Senator Jacobson and I were on the same wavelength this week! It’s mind boggling to me that next week is already the last full week of July.

As the summer continues and the temperatures rise, we once again enter “County Fair Season”. I must say that, as a kid growing up on the farm, I always looked forward to the annual county fair.

Does anyone under the age of 40 still print photos besides me?? I take a million photos and print thousands of them. Literally. I just ordered 500 single photos over the weekend - and that was only about 7 months worth off my phone alone.

Dear Dave, My father-in-law passed away earlier this year. Since then, my wife and I have faced a dilemma because of the inheritance. Her dad had several life insurance policies, and he left one to her and one to each of her siblings.
