Mullen first responders to be featured on documentary

Lincoln – When emergencies threaten and alarms sound, volunteer firefighters and medical teams stand by, ready and willing to protect citizens in more than 450 Nebraska communities. In fact, nine of every 10 firefighters in the state serve as volunteers.

WCNDD awarded Community Facilities Grant

West Central Nebraska Development District, Inc. has been awarded a $150,000 USDA Community Facilities Technical Assistance and Training grant, one of only nine grants awarded across the country.

Haunted corn maze in North Platte

The haunted corn maze has made a return to North Platte Community College. The attraction, which serves as a fundraiser for the NPCC softball team, will be open from 8-11 p.m. CT Oct. 14, 20-21, 27-28 and Oct. 31. The theme is, “Children of the Corn.

On Saturday, Sept. 16, Winnie Cooley and Lois Folk attended the funeral service for Blaine Runner at the United Methodist Church in Sutherland. He passed away on Sept. 9 at the age of 94. The Blaine Runner family resided south of Mullen in the 1960s.
