Sandhills Community Bible Church welcomes new pastor, Seth Hower

by Gerri Peterson During his sophomore year of high school Seth Hower noticed a calling to be a pastor. When his dad died the next year, he knew that is what he was going to do. Hower graduated from Nebraska Christian High School in Central City in 2020, but lived in Grand Island.

Peggy Marsh attended the Hooker County Republican meeting Tuesday evening. Thursday, Peggy attended the Hooker County Historical Society meeting. Ty Marsh of rural Kearney has been back and forth on the ranch working throughout the week.

The Hooker County Fair theme contest was open to grades K-6, with Hadley Marsh winning it with “This Little Piggy Went to the Fair.” She will receive $50 of Mullen Bucks from the Hooker County Ag Society.

Jessica Polt wins Mullen Commercial Club business grant

The Mullen Commercial Club is proud to have recently donated $1,255 in grant money to a new local business, Sandhill Family Childcare owned by Jessica Polt.

Expansion of irrigated acres approved

by Lexi Spurlin, ULNRD With no substantial changes in groundwater levels across the NRD, the Directors voted to allow up to 2,500 new acres to be developed throughout the District for 2024. Each of the five subdistricts has been allotted 500 acres.
