The popular Pig Wrestling was held Saturday, Aug. 1 during the Hooker County Fair at the Hooker County Fairgrounds. Youth 1. Kids: Eli and Harper Barnes, Tripp and Brogan Jewell - 6.9 seconds 2. Porkers: Jaxson and Harper Barnes, Ryann Walz, Bryndal Greeley - 9 seconds 3.

by Gerri PetersonThe Mid-Nebraska Pedal Pullers were in Mullen with the opportunity for ages 4-12 to compete against each other on Saturday, Aug. 1 during the Hooker County Fair. The top three of each division can go on to compete at the Nebraska State Fair. The competition saw 52 participants.

Even though it has already been in use, a ribbon cutting was held for the Village of Mullen’s Swimming Pool Park pavilion prior to the Water Carnival on Monday, July 27. Book the pavilion by calling the Village of Mullen office - 308-546-2625. Pictured celebrating the ribbon cutting are Village Board Chairman Devan Polt and Barb McIntosh who wrote grants to bring this vision to life. Gerri Peterson

NRD expansion of irrigated acres
