6th grader Riley Hegland will tie-dye anything cotton

It started as a 4-H project for the Hooker County Fair three years ago. Riley Hegland’s grandma wanted to try tie-dye. So together they made some shirts and Riley entered one of them in the fair. Fast forward to the spring of 2020 with everyone stuck at home thanks to COVID-19.

Gerri Peterson A Veterans Day program was held at the Lariat in Mullen last Wednesday, Nov. 11. Although many people didn’t attend due to COVID-19, including the American Legion Color Guard, the program was held as normally as possible and streamed online also.

As of press time on Tuesday, Nov. 17, the West Central District Health Department Dashboard was reporting 23 active cases of COVID-19 for Hooker County.

As of press time on Tuesday, Nov. 10, Hooker County’s COVID-19 case count had increased to 27 - with 14 active cases. Last week at this time we were at 24 total cases and 11 active. However, the West Central District Health Department’s Dashboard had not been updated since Friday, Nov.
