Students receive academic awards

Mullen Public Schools’ Honors Night was held Monday, April 27, at the Lariat, where 6-12th grade students’ artwork was also on display.During Honors Night, 6th- 12th grade students were recognized for their academic achievements throughout the school year.

Brown honored at Teacher Convocation

Lincoln - Michelle Brown of Mullen was among 208 University of Nebraska-Lincoln undergraduate students officially admitted to teacher education programs during the 2025-26 academic year who were recognized at the annual Teacher Education Convocation April 17 at Carolyn Pope Edwards Hall.

1st grade class makes butter from heavy whipping cream

After watching a video about how butter is made, the first grade decided to try it themselves.Each group filled a mason jar halfway with heavy whipping cream and got to work shaking. It didn’t take long before they noticed the cream getting thicker.

For the last STEM Club meeting of the school year last Tuesday, April 14, Jaclyn Gomez of NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) federal from North Platte was in Mullen to talk about the water cycle.
