Locals compete at Mid-States Rodeo Finals

by Gerri Peterson The Mid-States Rodeo Finals were held in Hastings September 12-14 with several locals competing.In the year end standings, Brittni Bradley won the women’s all around, was runner-up in breakaway, 4th in mixed team roping and 11th in barrels.

The Mullen Bronco girls golf team competed in North Platte at River’s Edge Golf Course last Monday, Sept. 15.Austin Deibler had a 57 and 57 for a 114, finishing 10th.Hope Miller shot a 67 and 64 for a 131 and Maci Walz shot a 77 and 78 for a 155.

Cross country competes at Ravenna

The Mullen cross country team was scheduled to go to McCook on Sept. 18th; however, plans were quickly dampened as the McCook golf course got over seven inches of rain, cancelling the meet. Mr. Phil Hoyt and Coach Janie Kuncl quickly looked for other meets to attend.

Jennings places for MPCC rodeo team

The Mid-Plains Community College rodeo teams opened the 2025-26 season September 5-6 at the 61st Annual Falcon Frontier Days Rodeo in River Falls, Wisconsin. The men’s team claimed the top spot in the team standings, while the women’s team placed fourth.

by Gerri Peterson Last Thursday, Sept. 11 the Mullen Bronco cross country runners competed at the Imperial Country Club for the Chase County Invite.For the Lady Broncos, Ady Hampton ran a 23:19.59 to finish 20th out of 72 competitors.Teammate Riley Hegland was out sick for this meet.

Mullen Broncos improve to 3-0

by Gerri Peterson The Mullen Bronco football team defeated the North Central Knights last Friday, Sept. 12 at home, 68-6.“We had a good win against North Central,” Head Coach Wade Marsh said. “The guys came out and did what we needed to do to put the game away early.
