Girls golf season in full swing

by Gerri Peterson The Lady Bronco golf team traveled to Broken Bow last Tuesday, Sept. 9.Austin Deibler combined a 60 and 55 to card a 115 and tie for 15th.Hope Miller shot a 62 and 63 for a 125 and Maci Walz shot a 74 and 73 for a 147.

Mullen Junior Golf Tournament held

by Deb Cox The Mullen Jr. Golf Tournament was held Sunday, Aug. 31 at the Mullen Golf Course with 19 youth competing. This year we added in three new events, putting and chipping competition for the older kids, and bean bag toss for the younger age group.

Mullen Broncos win 35-16 on the road

by Gerri Peterson The Mullen Bronco football team is now 2-0 after winning their road game 35-16 last Thursday, Sept. 4 in Hayes Center against the Maywood-Hayes Center Wolves.“We had a tough game,” Head Coach Wade Marsh said. “They were big on their line and ran the ball hard.

Lady Broncos win all three volleyball games last week

by Gerri Peterson The Lady Bronco volleyball team traveled to Arnold last Tuesday, Sept. 2 for a triangular.Their first game was against D1 South Loup, which they won in two sets 25-14, 25-20.

Cross country competes at largest meet of the year

junior On Friday, Sept. 5 the Mullen cross country team headed to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, for the Augustana Twilight Meet. This was the largest meet of the year with over 400 runners in each race.The Broncos had a very successful day with lots of personal and season records!

by Gerri Peterson The Lady Bronco golf team traveled to Chappell last Thursday, Sept. 4.Hope Miller shot a 111 to place 6th, medaling for the first time of her golf career!Austin Deibler shot a 118 but was disqualified on a technicality. Maci Walz shot a 163.

One last weekend of high school rodeo

Broncos win season opener 54-8

The Mullen Bronco football team hosted the D1 Sandhills Valley Mavericks (Tryon and Stapleton) for their season opener last Thursday night, Aug. 28, coming out with a 54-8 victory.“It was a good first game for our guys,” Head Coach Wade Marsh said.

Cross country runners earn medals

The Mullen Bronco cross country runners started their season last Thursday, Aug. 28 at the North Platte Invite held at the Oregon Trail Golf Course near Sutherland.The high school runners ran 5,000 meters (3.1 miles) and the junior high runners ran 3,000 meters (1.86 miles) on a damp course.
