State Cross Country bound

Mullen High School cross country runners Riley Hegland and Braylon Kuncl finished in the top 15 of their races at the District D-6 meet last Thursday, Oct. 16 in Grant to qualify for State Cross Country. In the girls race, junior Riley Hegland ran a 22:07.68 to place 9th.

MNAC volleyball runners-up

The Lady Broncos competed in the Mid-Nebraska Activities Conference volleyball tournament last week in Brady.The #3 seeded Broncos first played the #6 South Loup Bobcats on Thursday, Oct. 16, defeating them 25-22, 19-25, 25-20. This was the third time the Broncos have defeated them this season.

Broncos finish regular season 7-1, playoff game Thursday

The Mullen Bronco football team dominated at Bayard last Friday, Oct. 17, finishing their regular season with a 59-20 win.“It was a good end to our regular season,” Head Coach Wade Marsh said. “We jumped on Bayard right from the start and got an early lead.

Deibler competes at Girls State Golf

Mullen High School sophomore Austin Deibler competed in the Class C Girls State Golf meet at North Platte’s Lake Maloney Golf Club last Monday and Tuesday, October 13-14.She shot a 119 on Monday and a 107 on Tuesday for a total score of 226, to finish 84th out of 94 competitors.

Cross country runners place at MNAC, on to Districts

by Gerri Peterson The Mullen Bronco cross country runners competed at the MNAC meet in Arnold last Tuesday, Oct. 7. The Broncos had a great showing at their smallest meet of the year.Junior Riley Hegland placed 2nd with a 21:23.10 behind fellow junior Zoe Johnson of Brady’s 20:42.40.
