Two Mullen students qualified for the Junior High State Track meet with their season results - both in the high jump. 8th grader Bo Pettit and 7th grader Ava Kvanvig competed in the all class state meet in Gothenburg on Saturday, May 17. Neither made opening height at state, but had a great season!

Golf team competes twice last week

by Gerri Peterson The Mullen Bronco boys golf team competed twice last week, with their first tournament being at Chappell on Tuesday, May 6.Freshman Ben Werner won the meet with a score of 77 and a par on the first playoff hole.Junior Jacob Walker also placed, shooting an 86 for 7th.

Broncos compete at Best of the Midwest, Dave Blevins Invite

by Gerri Peterson Last Tuesday, May 6, 13 Mullen Broncos qualified to compete at the Best of the Midwest Track Meet in Sutherland, where they saw competition from A-D schools.Senior Peyton Paxton was the lone Bronco medalist, placing 2nd in both of her events - the 1600 with a 5:27.

Athletes honored at Athletic Banquet

by Gerri Peterson The Mullen High School Athletic Banquet was held on Monday, May 5 at the Lariat.Following a supper where the Mullen Commercial Club provided meat, potatoes and drinks, and attendees brought salads, vegetables and desserts, season highlights were given by the coaches.

Golf team wins 2 of 3 meets last week

by Gerri Peterson The Mullen High School boys golf team spent more time on the golf course last week than they did in the classroom!Their week started out in Thedford at the Sandhills/ Thedford Invite on Monday, April 28, which they won as a team with a 355, ahead of Valentine JV’s second place 361.

Mullen was well represented at the Nebraska Youth Track & Field Meet in Kearney on Saturday, May 3, with all 11 participants qualifying for the state meet by placing in the top four of at least one of their events.
