Broncos rack up track medals

by Alex Werner, MHS juniorOn Tuesday, April 22, a select few Broncos made the trip to Gothenburg for the Midwest Nebraska Track Invite. To qualify for the meet, an athlete must be within the top 8 entered times for all running events, and top 9 distances for all field events.

Track teams compete in Burwell

by Gerri PetersonThe Mullen Bronco track teams competed in Burwell last Thursday, April 17, with the girls placing 3rd behind West Holt and Burwell and the boys finishing 9th out of 13 teams.Peyton Paxton was the only Bronco to earn an individual gold medal, running the 3200 in 12:21.72.

by Gerri Peterson The Mullen Bronco boys golf team placed 2nd in Arnold last Friday, April 11.Individually, junior Jacob Walker shot a 78 to place 3rd and freshman Ben Werner shot an 81 for 5th.

Jennings wins rodeo

Ames, Iowa – The Mid-Plains Community College rodeo team opened the spring season by claiming the men’s and women’s team titles at the Cyclone Stampede Rodeo March 29-30.On the women’s side, Whitney Jennings secured the top spot in breakaway with a time of 5.

Golf team opens season with 2nd place team finish

The Mullen Bronco boys golf team started the season in Stapleton last Monday, March 31.Freshman Ben Werner made his high school golf debut with a score of 72 to bring home the first place medal by two strokes.Junior Jacob Walker’s 89 earned him the ninth place medal.

Mullen Marksmen place in virtual match

 The Mullen Marksmen who competed in Chadron on March 9 had the opportunity to also compete in the Delta Waterfowl BB Gun Gear Giveaway Virtual Match with their BB gun targets that day. They also took a 50 question written test for the virtual match.

Sandhill Defenders win in Kenesaw

Saturday, March 22 the Sandhill Defenders played in Kenesaw for the afternoon session, winning every set to get 1st place in their pool of 5 teams.They played NVA (Kearney/ Amherst team), York Relay, GI Islanders and the Wacky Ace’s from Kansas (which was the only team we played the week before).
