Mullen Marksmen are State Champions

Bridgeport Golf Invite results

by Gerri Peterson The Mullen boys golf team competed at the Bridgeport Golf Invite on Thursday, April 11.Jacob Walker shot a 44 and 43 for an 87 to place 8th.Jarron Forsen shot a 55 and 44 for a 99 and Corbin Kissire shot a 53 and 53 for a 106.

Boys 2nd, girls 3rd at Bertrand track meet

by Gerri PetersonThe Mullen Bronco track teams competed at the Jerry Stine Invite in Bertrand on Friday, April 12.The boys placed 2nd as a team with 87 points, behind Hi-Line’s 108. The girls finished 3rd with 82.5 points, behind Southern Valley (Oxford)’s 118 and Loomis’ 103.

Brooke McCully led CSC breakaway domination

Led by junior Brooke Mc- Cully of Mullen, four Chadron State College cowgirls were among the 10 finalists in breakaway roping at the Colorado State University rodeo in Fort Collins April 6-7.McCully was the pacesetter. She won the breakaway championship by catching both of her calves in 2.6 seconds.

South Loup golf meet results

Jacob Walker and Jarren Forsen competed for the Mullen Broncos at the South Loup golf meet in Arnold last Friday, April 5.44 for a 90 to place 9th.Forsen had a 52 and 47 for a 99.The Broncos compete in Bridgeport on Thursday, April 11 and then in a triangular at Thedford on Monday, April 15.

Boys track team places 1st, girls 4th at South Loup Invite

It was more than a tad windy for the track team as they competed in Arnold last Friday, April 5 at the South Loup Invite, but the boys still won the meet with 86 points total, ahead of second place Ansley-Litchfield’s 79 points.
