Mullen Youth Wrestling competes at Huskerland Duals information submitted by Steven Dent Mullen took a grades 3-5 dual team to the Huskerland Duals in Kearney over the weekend. They placed 3rd in their division, going 3-2.
Last month the recipients of the inaugural 2023-2024 Nebraska School Activities Association Champions for Coaches award were announced. MHS cross country coach Janie Kuncl received the award for boys cross country. She received her award during the Class A Boys State Basketball semifinal game on Friday, March 8 at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln. Congratulations! courtesy photo

Sandhill Defenders wrap up season

by Barb McIntosh The Sandhill Defenders traveled to Holdrege for the Nebraska Pride Tournament to end their season on Feb. 25. Their first game was by far their toughest of the day, playing the Nebraska Pride Black Kearney team who ended up winning the tournament.

Academic Excellence Award for cross country

The Mullen girls cross country team has been named a 2023-24 Nebraska Coaches Association Academic Excellence Award Recipient. The criteria for the award is a 3.30 team cumulative GPA for the fall 2023 semester.
