Golf team ends season at Districts

The Mullen girls golf team ended their season at Districts at the Ogallala Crandall Creek Golf Course on Monday, Oct. 2. As a team the Broncos placed 11th with a 536. Corynn Corbin: 53 and 58 - 111. Ashlyn Simonson: 67 and 68 - 135. Brooke Williams: 65 and 77 - 142. Hope Miller: 70 and 78 148.

by Peyton Paxton, MHS junior Where to start!? On Tuesday, Oct. 3rd the Mullen cross country team attended MNAC at Arnold. Due to weather, the meet got moved to early in the morning, resulting in perfect running weather! All seven runners did amazing.

Mid-Plains Community College’s cowboys and cowgirls competed Friday and Saturday, September 29-30 at the Blue Hawk Stampede hosted by Dickinson State University in Dickinson, North Dakota. The Mid-Plains’ men’s team finished first in overall standings, and the women’s team was fifth.

On Sept. 25, 2023, the Mullen High School cross country team attended the UNK Invite at the Country Club in Kearney. It was a very successful day for Kyle and the girls: Peyton, Harper, Riley and Ady. The girls finished third as a team in Class D and all had amazing races.

by Gerri Peterson The Mullen Bronco football team scored over half of their points in the first quarter last Friday, Sept. 29 during their Homecoming victory over the Leyton Warriors. Five Broncos were among those scoring the 28 first quarter points.

by Gerri Peterson The Mullen Bronco girls golf team had their last regular season meet last Monday, Sept. 25 in Alliance. Senior Corynn Corbin shot a 49 and a 52 for a 101 and third place. had a PR of 118 with a 60 and 58, finishing 15th.

sophomore The Mullen Lady Broncos hosted the Anselmo-Merna Coyotes Friday, Sept. 23. They played three sets and unfortunately came up short in all three, 22-25, 19-25, 23-25. As a team they served 84.1%. Kalli Licking: 3 points, 11 digs, 19 assists, 1/1 serve receive.

The Mullen Broncos all earned an individual medal at the Maywood Hayes Center cross country meet last Thursday, Sept. 21. Peyton Paxton won the high school girls’ race with a time of 21:49.86. Harper Andersen Hegland was right behind her with a 23:28.24 for 7th.
