Junior High, Paxton, Kuncl are MNAC Cross Country Champions

There was a lot to be proud of at the MNAC Cross Country invite in Arnold. Mullen XC teams represented Mullen Public Schools well on Tuesday, Oct. 5. It was a new course to run on with a lot of turns and a few bridges to run over.

Kuncl, Paxton break school records

The Mullen High School runners didn’t get a long recovery from the UNK Invite just two days prior to running at Bayard on Thursday, Sept. 30. They didn’t let that stop them from setting some new personal records and season bests!!

Mullen Broncos improve to 5-1

For the second week in a row, the Mullen Broncos returned the opening kickoff and their opponents’ first punt for touchdowns last Friday night when the Morrill Lions came to town. “Coming in we felt like we could use our speed and athletes to get to the edge and in the open field.

Lady Broncos go 2-1 last week

The Lady Broncos went 2-1 last week with all home games. On Tuesday, Sept. 28 they hosted the North Platte St. Pat’s Irish, falling 14-25, 18- 25 and 14-25. Bella Brown led serving, 7/7 with 5 points. Taylor Svoboda had 6 kills, hitting 26/28. Alli Loughran was 43/43 setting with 9 assists.

2nd-3rd grades sing national anthem at football game

The Mullen 2nd and 3rd grade classes sang The Star-Spangled Banner at the Broncos’ football game last Friday, Oct. 1. Music teacher Caroline Durfee said the students suggested they sing it at a football game. They practiced for a couple weeks during music class and at home. Gerri Peterson

Cross country teams see success in two big meets

On Friday, Sept. 24, the Bronco cross country team traveled to Albion to compete against mostly Class C schools with a few Class D schools mixed in. Boone Central provides a tough, hilly course for all competitors, but our small team persevered and ran very well.

Lady Broncos have ‘page turner’ week of games

The Lady Broncos had a packed week last week, with the varsity playing Thursday, Friday and Saturday. On Thursday, Sept. 23 they played in a triangular in Valentine. They lost to C1 Valentine 25-27 and 17-25 and to Stuart 4-25, 26-24 and 19-25.

Mullen Bronco football team wins 61-22 at Hyannis

The Mullen Bronco football team didn’t have to go too far for their away game last Friday, Sept. 24, traveling to Hyannis, where they won 61-22. “We came out and played well right off the start,” Head Coach Wade Marsh said.

Mullen High School Girls Golf traveled to a pair of scenic 9 hole golf courses last week. Tuesday, Sept. 21 saw us in Valentine at Frederick Peak Golf Club. A tough course winding through some canyons yielded high scores throughout the field.
