by Kassidy Cheever, MHS freshman Rosemary Tracy was born in Mullen, and then later she moved to North Platte in 1969, where she met Edward Cheever. They married and had two kids, Tressa and Tim. Tressa was born in 1971, and Tim was born in 1975.Rosemary was all over the midwest.

33 units donated at blood drive

by Nicole Hoffmann Thirty-three units of blood were donated at the Mullen blood drive, including two power red donations, last Wednesday, Oct. 22, meeting the drive’s goal.Congratulations to the following milestone donors: Doug Finney - 8 gallons, Ben Hart - 2 gallons and Trisha Vest - 1 gallon.

Free mobile food pantry next week

Food Bank for the Heartland will host a free Mobile Pantry in Mullen, Nebraska, on Wednesday, Nov. 5 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., or until food runs out. The mobile pantry will take place at the Hooker County Fairgrounds, located at 36531 Fairgrounds Road.

Sisters have spent their adult years in Mullen

by Gerri Peterson Two sisters not only ended up spending their adult lives in Mullen, but are also both still living in their own homes at ages 94 and 91.Kathryn Tuton and Joan Carr are North Platte natives, two of the six kids in the Land family.

Hooker County earns dividend from NIRMA program

Lincoln - Hooker County has received a $951 dividend check through its participation in the Nebraska Intergovernmental Risk Management Association (NIRMA) pooling program.
